World Congress on Racket Sports Science

The international racket sport federations of  Badminton, Table Tennis and Tennis are collaborating on the 6th World Congress of Racket Sport Science to be held during the TOTAL BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 2018 in Bangkok in May.


The supreme topics like fitness, performance and racket design will be discussed at the congress, organised by the Badminton World Federation, International Table Tennis Federation, Badminton Association of Thailand and Mahidol University, with the aegis from the International Tennis Federation.


The event is being held on 25th and 26th May at Arnoma Grand Hotel, Bangkok.


The factors to be discussed at the congress will significantly have impact on various subjects like competitive racket sports and concern specific fields such as coaching, biomechanics, ergonomics, fitness testing, injuries and their prevention, nutrition, physiology, rehabilitation and training.


The motto of the congress is: ‘Racket Sports from a Multi-Disciplinary Perspective’.


The co-chairs of the Scientific Committee for the congress are Miran Kondric (Faculty of Sport, University of Ljubljana) of the International Table Tennis Federation, and David Cabello (Faculty of Sports Science, University of Granada) of the Badminton World Federation, while the guests of honour will be BWF President Poul-Erik Høyer and Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, President of Badminton Association of Thailand.
