Subhankar Dey Launches His Badminton Academy

The Indian shuttler Subhankar Dey took social media to announce the launch of his academy by the name ‘Subhankar Dey Badminton Academy’, in Bengal.

In the country where, a lot of young talented players are emerging, and where the country is struggling to create the sporting culture, the proper nurturing of talents from grassroots is very important. And that comes only when contribution from renowned sportspersons pour in.

The 64-ranked shuttler, who had to run away from his hometown in Kolkata at the age of just 17 and lived with his sister in Thane, Maharashtra. Since day one, Dey has been playing badminton against his mother and elder brother who wanted Dey to get the regular job. His sister never let him down and has been supporting him. Today, he has built the strong pillar as the player and he funds himself for everything.

Currently, Dey lives in Copenhagen, who represented the professional sports club for almost one year in Denmark. Dey, has lived every player’s nightmare to get to where he is now.

Subhankar Dey has taken one brave step at an early age of 24, to recognise and train the young aspiring shuttlers.
