What is the longest rally you think badminton has witnessed?
If you think about 73-shot rally between PV Sindhu and Nozomi Okuhara during the World Championship 2017 finals, you are wrong.
It is the second longest rally!
Then what is the longest rally?
Well, that’s the never-ending 102-shot rally happened during the recently-concluded All England Open Championship in Birmingham.
The gruelling and weary rally took place between Japan’s Yuki Fukushima-Sayaka Hirota and Denmark’s Christinna Pedersen-Kamilla Rytter Juhl, which lasted for 90 seconds in the women’s doubles final match.
Over the following minute-and-a-half, bartered shots between four women was never ending sight and spectators went frenzy only when the rally was 40 shots old.
