Indonesia’s double shuttler Marcus Fernaldi Gideon busted at the umpire during the game at the Thomas Cup Finals against the host Thailand, after losing in a Group B tie. This incident took place at the Impact Arena¸ according to media sources.

The World No. 1 double shuttler team comprising of Marcus and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo suffered a major shock of 16-21, 21-13, 12-21 against Kittisak Namdash-Nipitphon Phuangphuapet in a cut throat match.

Having won all the matches back to back for over a period of 7 months straight, the duo suffered a loss and were totally lashed out. Ever since the China Open in November, Marcus-Kevin did not experience a single defeat.

The new service height is now fixed at 1.15m, however Marcus argued that he’s been in the sport for a long time, and service issue has never occurred to him.

I’m not that tall and this umpire kept faulting my service. He wants me to serve above my chest?” questioned the 27-year-old Marcus, who stands at 1.68m.

“I questioned the service judge few times. My game was affected.

“We are the world No. 1 and we have played for many years. I’ve never been faulted before even when this new service rule was introduced enroute to winning the All-England.

“I’m okay to lose but not in this way. This is unfair,” he said.
