The recent news on the Malaysian Badminton Championship is out. The badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has taken the decision to omit Aidil Sjoleh Ali Sadikin, the national Under-18 champions under boy’s category, from the Asian Junior Championships, which is planned to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from July 14th to 22nd. This decision of BAM has surely unpleased Mr. Raezal Hussein, the team manager of Cheras Badminton Club.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia has a list which contains the names of eight girls and eight boys who will be up for the Asian meet this year. The list is revealed last week and the ambitious player of the professional clubs, Aidil’s name was nowhere in the list. K. Letshana who hails from Selangor is the only non-BAM player to come through.

Hussein said, the BAM has not used their open-door policy for the preference of the players. He is disappointed that the BAM does not stick to their words, regarding the concern.

Raezal also said that Aidil did not even get a chance to go through the selection trial, when he has already showcased his talent by winning the boy’s Under-18 title, held in last December.

Taking the instance of last year, Hussein said that even in the previous year, during the selection trial for the world junior meet, the selection procedure of BAM was open. All the existing clubs have got the invitation for the open trial, in which Aidil was picked.

When the list of the selected players was revealed, Raezal was totally surprised. According to him, every player deserves a fair chance. What was the criteria of selection of players and when was the trial held? He was totally unaware about this.

The resident of Selangor, Aidil will apply with the appeal for solving the issue of the selection process. The letter will be sent to the Selangor BA president, Datuk V Subhramanim. The selection issue of Aidil at BAM has disappointed the player also.

Hussein said they are expecting BAM to consider this matter again and solve it.

The great player Rashid Sidek is currently giving training to Aidil, at Cheras BC. Last year in Yogjakarta, Aidil lost the third round in the boy’s singles.

Currently the boys squad has Ng Tze Yong, Lim Chong King, Chia Wei Jie, Chong Hon Jian, Chang Yee Jun, Chua Yue Chern, Lwi Sheng Hao, Oii Jhy Dar.

Whereas the girls squad has Eoon Qi Xuan, Go Pei Kee, K. Letshana, Pearly Tan Koong Le, Toh Ee Wei, Yap Ling, Eng Sin Jou, Teoh Lexuan.
