Last week the decision of BAM was taken on Aidil and yet now the matter is boiling. The BAM recent updates on Aidil, for Asian games, is shocking for his fans and the Cheras BC. This year, Jakarta will be hosting the Asian Junior Championship from July 14th to July 22nd. The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is firm on its decision of the exclusion of the spellbound Malaysian Independent shuttler Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin, from the tournament.

However, the World Junior Championship (WJC) is near, which will take place in Ontario, Canada from Nov 5th to Nov 18th and the national body does not want the situation to repeat in the future, hence, there will be some upgrade in the upcoming selection process.

The Chairman of Development Committee, of BAM, David Wee has said that, before any major events, the tournament committee should organize national junior tournaments, so that the players can showcase their talent and the selection procedure can be done on the basis of fresh results.

Two under-18 tournaments will take place under the BAM. First one will fall in the month of April, in Perak while the other will be held in Kuala Lumpur, in December.

David stated that the development committee will make an appeal that before the beginning of any major tournament, the tournament committee should organize age-group tournaments for the players in order to benchmark their performance and calibre.

Aidil is the National under-18 Champion 2017 and a star player of Cheras BC. BAM’s decision of eliminating Aidil from the Asian Junior Championship has surrounded the club with melancholy. The Cheras BC is disappointed by BAM for not sticking to providing any trials for the Open-door policy.

The annual continent meet is near and there will be no changes in the eight-member boys’ team. The BWF Junior rankings list has the names of top three singles players Chia Wei Jie, Ng Tze Yong and Lim Chong King. On June 7th, shuttlers were selected for the game. The under-18 coaches, appointed by Kwan Yoke, completed the selection procedure.

BAM responses to Aidil’s proposal and stated that the selection was fair, and the trio is at the right place. To prove their game and performance, Aidil and other independent shuttlers will be kindly hosted for World Junior Championship. Also, they will get enticement to show up for the selection trials.
