Srikanth’s hat trick super series win of the year with Denmark Open on sunday not only made badminton family overwhelmed but also cricket fraternity.

India’s no 1 and world’s 8th ranked Srikanth has all the limelight from the cricket greats. The shuttler had won his maiden Denmark Open defeating the South Korean veteran Lee Hyun II with 21-10, 21-5 in just 25 minutes. Srikanth became the second male shuttler from India to own the title after Prakash Padukone in 1980 and filled the long gap of 37 years.

India, being the country where cricket is marked as a religion with highest spectators and media viewerships than any other sport, has slowly losing its obscurity in recent times; with the more remarkable achievements from our badminton players, internationally.

By the time country assumes Indian badminton as the-girl-sport with Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu, comes the male shuttlers Sai Praneeth and Kidambi Srikanth’s thrust at the Singapore Open finals; the double delight for the spectators as both the players are the Indian men. And that didn’t stop there; the Indian men shuttlers in no time proved their potential with their rise in the world ranking spots bagging 5 places in top 20, followed by the emerge of the Indian doubles shuttlers at International platform.

Watching Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Srikanth Kidambi, Sai Praneeth, HS Prannoy and many others standing at the podium, evoked passion and triggered an emerging love for badminton in the country.

Besides these happenings, badminton game has gained its own style of prominence from the Indian cricket family. The cricket geniuses are showing some intrigue and has involved in other sports since the recent past. The coup of achieving feats in other sports and the need for the rise of other sports; has engulfed our cricketers in reinforcing ‘non-cricket’ sports, be like Kabaddi, Football and Badminton.

Indian badminton has become phenomenal for our cricketing legends who are showering their appreciations through social media and also the support.

One such pursuit happened with the cricket God Sachin Tendulkar stepping into badminton. The legend bought stakes in the Premiere Badminton League and later Pro Kabaddi League. And not to forget, the Nawab of Najafgarh - Sehwag’s tweets on Sindhu, Sai Praneeth, Srikanth and other players is a buoyant spirit, in the recent past.

Cricket legends couldn’t stop themselves from praising the newly-crowned Srikanth on social media despite India’s ODI loss against New Zealand on the same day.

Rahul Dravid, The great wall of India, who is known for his coolness and success spared some time in acknowledging the recent badminton success of Srikanth at Denmark Open.

Cricket God, Sachin Tendulkar expressed his warm wishes tweeting,

Virender Sehwag, who owns twitter with his epic and rib-tickling tweets congratulated saying, VVS Laxman, the former stylish cricketer who made cricket magical, delighted by saying, Mohammad Kaif continuing his swift moves on twitter said, Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle, who is called as the king of cricket commentary said, Besides from the legends, Srikanth Kidambi has also gained respect from the current cricket players too. It is such a gratitude of the legend cricketers to reflect their appreciation on the emerging young talents of badminton.
