Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal and Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi with his wife Lara Bhupathi, attended Virat and Anushka’s wedding reception in Mumbai at St Regis on Tuesday night. Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri, who got married in this December, and his wife Sonam Bhattacharya were other celebs who graced the event.
The duo married in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends in Tuscany on December 11 and returned to India for their reception.
The Olympic medallist dressed in a beautiful pink-cream combination gown, designed by the fashion designer Neeta Lulla and posed with the newly-married couple and Katrina Kaif.
Earlier, Saina missed the opening match of the Premier Badminton League season 3, as she is still recovering from ankle injury. Being the captain of the Awadhe Warriors, Saina was supposed to have the clash against Sindhu of Chennai Smashers, but had to skip the contest in the last minute and was replaced by Sai Uttejitha Rao.
Talking about her injury, Awadhe Warriors coach Anup Sridhar said, “Saina is recovering from a small ankle issue which she had developed few weeks back. She is recovering well and we are expecting her to be fully fit for the next match.”
