Rituparna Das and Mithun Manjunath clinch All India Senior Ranking title

Rituparna, former national champion, put behind her injury-filled 2017 to clinch her first title of the year, defeating Shikha Gautam with 18-21, 24-22, 21-16 in the women’s singles final at the All India Senior Ranking Badminton tournament at the Padukone Dravid Centre of Sports Excellence in Bangalore on Sunday.

While in the men’s singles, the Prakash Padukone Academy trainee Mithun Manjunath, outplayed Swedish Open champion Siddharth Pratap Singh with 21-12, 21-19.

In the straight games victory, Chetan Anand and V Diju, the veterans, grabbed men’s doubles crown over Arjun Kumar Reddy and Gouse Shaik with 21-18, 21-16, while, J Meghana delighted the spectators with double titles in the women’s singles and mixed doubles matches.

Meghana and Poorvisha, seeded eighth in the tournament grabbed the  women’s double title  defeating the sixth seeds Aparna Balan and KP Sruthi with 21-18, 21-15, while Meghana partnering with Dhruv Kapila got better off the fourth seeds Vighnesh Devlekar and V Harika with 21-16, 21-14 in the mixed doubles summit clash.
