Badminton Star appointed as Deputy Collector by Andhra Pradhesh CM

The year 2018 has been a great year for people of India as much as it was unforgettable for the Indian badminton. The badminton superstar Kidambi Srikanth. Alone in the year 2017, Kidambi Srikanth won 4 Super Series titles in the badminton championship. These records themselves represent his great victory. He met his goals and winning these titles, he has bestowed an unforgettable moment to the country. He started from the unthinkable and reached to the momentous by accomplishing his journey of greatness and hard work.

According to the modern ranking system, Kidambi Srikanth has become the First Indian male shutter, recognized as the World’s No. 1. In the team event, he acquired a gold medal and in the recently scheduled, Commonwealth Games, Kidambi Srikanth acquired a silver medal. This young superstar from Guntur was honored by the most notable and eminent, Padma Shri Award, for acquiring outstanding achievements in Badminton. To pay gratitude towards his extraordinary and remarkable efforts, the state government of the Andhra Pradesh has honored him with the designation of Deputy Collector of his own hometown. As the Andhra Pradesh CM appoints Srikanth Kidambi as the deputy collector, the whole hometown of the sportsman merged in happiness. Now, he is not only a sportsperson but also he is Kidambi Srikanth deputy collector.

This journey of Kidambi Srikanth shows the ample amount of hard work he has done to reach to the position, he is at now. In the year 2001, when he was a kid, badminton became his hobby, as he trailed the traces of his brother. Kidambi Srikanth and his brother used to play in a Municipal stadium which was located near his home and that’s how he started playing badminton. Father of Kidambi Srikanth was a cricketer yet he has been a very encouraging and supportive to his sons. His parents never forced any of their children to choose cricket as their career rather they assisted and supported them.

In December 2009, during his junior days, Kidambi Srikanth joined the Gopichand Academy as a doubles player but later, he ended up fitting as a singles player. This was basically a transition of a doubles player to a singles player. In his junior days, Kidambi Srikanth was familiarized to play all the three types of events of the badminton. He was no stranger to the doubles, singles and mixed doubles. After the junior year was over, Gopichand had personally advised Kidambi Srikanth to concentrate on singles games. This was the turning point in his badminton career and it worked out really well.

Kidambi Srikanth has many unique qualities when it comes to the sport, but his aggressive attitude on-court gives him the brownie points and lets him stand out from the crowd. There are only a few badminton players, who have the capacity and style to play aggressive game. Gopichand also helped Kidambi Srikanth to gain this unique style.

According to Kidambi Srikanth, instead of thinking and spending time on the output of a game, players should always work hard and give their 100%. That is more satisfying that as a player you bring out of your energy and skills. There are only two outputs; either of the player will win or lose, which has to happen, but it is very important to have a relaxed mind and satisfaction about your own playing skills. Before the beginning of any tournament, Kidambi Srikanth believes in a tight schedule, dedicated training for about 3 to 4 weeks, just to be prepared to play for that specific hour, in an outstanding and satisfying way. He believes in trying every strategy, he knows, in order to perform well.

In this year, Kidambi Srikanth and his team have won their first gold medal. The team performed very well, and it was a moment of pride and honor. It is a dream come true when he was announced as the World’s No.1 and at the same time, he also won his first medal in the Commonwealth games. He ended up scoring a silver. In the coming months of July and August, the World Championships as well as Asian Games will begin and it shall be the most awaited period to watch the living legend play with the same aggressiveness and uniqueness.

The support of the governments also played a great role in the life of a sportsperson. The Honourable Chief Minister of the Andhra Pradesh State, Chandrababu Naidu as well as the Central government, both have been a support to the players as well. It is very essential to support our players. This supports the players to play and perform well and ignite a spirit of patriotism in them.

It is not always important to make a career in the educational or research field. Sportspersons like Kidambi Srikanth is great example in front of all of us and all the young ones of the country.
