Itanagar’s Inter-club badminton championship kicks off!

The Second State Level Inter-Club Badminton championship which offers a prize money has kicked off at the MLA Cottage badminton hall at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on 14th of June, Thursday. It is a mixed team championship.


This event is going to witness around 100 players from seven badminton clubs belonging to various districts competing as informed by Penya Bagra, Joint Secretary of Arunachal State Badminton Association.


The participant clubs include “East Kameng” Badminton Club, “Sinki Park” Badminton Club, “Nari” Badminton Club (Lower Siang), “Tankakso” Badminton Club (Tezu, Lohit), “Ziro” Badminton Club (Lower Subansiri), “Capital” Badminton Club (Itanagar), and “Upper Subansiri” Badminton Club.


Doni Nich the Vice Chairman of Sports Authority of Arunachal talking about the event, advised the players to take good advantage of the opportunity provided.

He continued saying that the success is in the hands of the players and he advised them to train harder to be successful.

Talking at the opening event, the SAA Vice Chairman also spoke of how committed the state government is towards all-around development of the sports sector.


The opening ceremony was also graced by Sports Deputy Director Mala Linggi.

Meanwhile, the matches took off and we were kept informed that “Sinki Park” Badminton Club and “Tankakso” Badminton Club have slid into the next round.

While “Sinki Park” won over “East Kameng” Badminton Club (3-1), “Tankakso” defeated “Nari” Badminton Club by (3-0).
