The 25-year-old, Indian shuttler has played the four rounds of the qualifying matches, to get a chance for the main draw in the Bengaluru Tournament. He is just one win away from winning the title.

In the past 8 days, Verma has battled against his opponents in 14 matches and enters in the main draw in Hyderabad. On the way to the title, he has progressively defeated three seeded players. In the finals, he has beaten the seeded player Pratul Joshi and World No. 1 Lakshya Sen in Bengaluru.

Apart from the match with Shreyansh Jaiswal, Verma has won the other matches quite easily. In the third qualifying round, Jaiswal was a trouble for Verma and all the three games had tight competition. The first game was won by Verma by 15-13, while he lost the second game with a huge difference of 5-15. This made it difficult for him to win over his opponent. However, in the third game, Verma found the courage and strength to battle against Jaiswal and beating him with a score of 16-14 and making it to the finals.

After facing a chain of continuous injuries, the finals were not so easy for Verma. He was playing against Raghu M, in the opening round, and stormed into the second round of the main draw to face his opponent seed Pratul Joshi once again.

Recently the two opponents played on Sunday. To win the championship match, Verma had made tremendous effort to win the match by 17-21, 21-14,21-18. This match lasted for around 72 minutes, which drained them throughout. To win the final match of the Bengaluru Tournament, Verma vested his blood and sweat to own the title.
