Nagaland: 6th Inter-departmental badminton tournament to be held at Pughoboto

The 6th Inter-Departmental Badminton tournament 2018 updates are here, in which the small town, Pughoboto was declared open on 13th August. The announcement was done by the SDEO Pughoboto Mr V. Yashito Swu. The ADC, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi, administrator and other officers were present at the time of declaration.


Yashito made a short speech where he mentioned the significance of sports and highlighted its importance for the mental, physical and social health and benefits, according to the report of DIPR.


He also stated that both the indoor and outdoor sports are necessary to keep a person healthy and fit. A well-nourished mind leads to a healthy body. He also referred the top Indian players including PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Srikanth Kidambi etc. He said that they are the significant example of a healthy body and mind.


Like any other sport, badminton has equal requirement of practice and allegiance. He also told that according to a Diabetes prevention program, it is revealed that playing badminton lowers the risk of diabetes development in a person up to 58 per cent. In a way, it prevents from diabetes more than medication.


In the Nagaland 6th Inter-Departmental Badminton tournament 2018, 19 teams will participate.
