Badminton World Federation’s Super 100 IDBI Federal Insurance Hyderabad Open 2018 tournament  with the prize purse of USD 75,000 will be held in Hyderabad from Sept 4th to 9th at G.M.C. Balayogi Sata Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli.

The tournament is being organised by the Badminton Association of India (BAI), the governing body for badminton in India and hosted by Badminton Association of Telangana with gobadminton.in as the official digital partner.

In the history of the city, the tournament is going to be a grand BWF event with huge number of entries; the tournament will witness 435 players from 14 countries - 167 in Men’s Singles, 86 in Women’s singles, 80 in Men’s Doubles, 40 in Women’s Doubles, 62 in Mixed Doubles - competing across five different disciplines beginning the campaign from ten different draws.

Hyderabad being the home of Indian badminton - with the likes of PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Srikanth Kidambi, HS Prannoy, Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy grabbing great feats on the global platform - will raise the bar with the tournament and inspire the young-home talent hauling the senior shuttlers.

The city houses the most iconic and admire-worthy coach Pullela Gopichand, the backbone behind badminton’s rising popularity in India,  who has contributed a fair share in enhancing the current infrastructure and consistently working towards players nurturing.

At the six-day contest, spectators will eye the powerful encounters between not just the seniors themselves, but also an interesting camaraderie on court between the seniors and the emerging stars.
