BWF Hyderabad Open 2018 LIVE Finale: Hong-Kong Women Doubles bag the gold

The fifth seeds Ng Tsz Yau/Yuen Sin Ying of Hong-Kong defeated Vivian Hoo/Yap Cheng Wen of Malaysia with 21-18, 16-21, 21-14 in the Women’s Doubles discipline to clinch the title at the BWF Super 100 Hyderabad Open 2018 on Sunday at the G.M.C Balayogi SATS Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

In the opener, the Hong-Kong pair sailed towards the game with an ease with 16-8 immense lead; slowly the Malaysian pair managed to decrease the gap with 9-17, yet trailing with the huge gap.

Tsz and Yeun pair co-ordinated well switching the positions from front alley to the back alley before going down towards the game point with 20-11.

The game was interpreted to be into Hong-Kong’s pocket, but the fifth seeded duo they lost seven game point opportunities.

The Malaysian players hopes rose as they broke off to 18-20 trail, before losing with 18-21.

In the second game, the game was a close encounter, before Malaysians halted with a 11-8 lead by the half time and took the game with 21-16.

In the decider, Vivian/Yep pair grabbed an early lead before Tsz/Yuen rallied with a hard smash to make the scoreline 4-3. At 7-3 Hong-kong players proved to be overpowered than the Malaysian players as they won the longest rally of the tournament filled with jump smashes, agility, cross court hits and net plays.

As the match goes down towards the match point, the Malaysians changed the gear grappling by 12-12, beforeTsz and Yuen pair ruled it in style with 21-14.
