Dawn of the Indian doubles at Hellas Open International Challenge 2017

Indian mixed doubles youngsters, Rohan Kapoor and Kuhoo Garg clinched the title at Hellas Open International Challenge 2017 at Livada, Greece.

 

The top-seeded duo defeated fourth seed, Utkarsh Arora and Karishma Wadkar by 21-19, 21-19 scoreline in 35-minute encounter on 3rd September. It was doubles delight as both the opponents were Indians at the podium.

 

In Men’s Singles Aditya Joshi stood as second runner-up defeating Daniel Chislov of Israel in 37-minutes. In the women’s doubles Harika Veludurthi and Karishma Wadkar stood as 2nd runner-up after 39-minute contest against Bengisu Ercetin and Nazlican INCI from Turkey by 21-11, 21-9 score line.


In the recent past, it has been women singles and men singles bringing laurels to the nation. Slowly, doubles going to join the party on the international platform after the recent promises made by the junior doubles players.

 

Probably, in the near future, we would see more Indians standing at the podium on the International platform as juniors slowly raising to be on the winning board.
