Arjun and Ramachandran enter main draw at the German Open

Indian doubles shuttlers Arjun MR and Ramachandran Shlok entered the main draw of the men’s doubles at the German Open, the USD 150,000 World Tour Super 300 Tournament on Tuesday.


The duo defeated Inkarat Apisuk and Tanupat Viriyangkura of Thailand in the straight games of the qualifier with the 21-15, 21-16. The Indians will face the top seeded Japanese pair of Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda in the next round.


Initially in the first game, Arjun and Ramachandran trailed, yet very close to the opponents. By the half time, the Indian were with one point advantage with 11-10, and continued the dominance till winning the game point. The similar game is scripted in the second game.


Another men’s doubles pair, Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy will be seen playing against the Danish shuttlers Kasper Antonsen and Niclas Nohr. While, mixed doubles duo, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy will face the Taiwanese qualifiers Chang Ko-Chi and Ceng Chi Ya, today at the tournament.


Meanwhile, the only singles Indian player at the tournament, Subhankar Dey, will be seen playing against the sixteenth ranked Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hong Kong in the main draw.
