Pranaav-Sikki, Subhankar bows out of the German Open, ends India’s campaign

The Indian mixed doubles players Pranaav Jerry Chopra with N Sikki Reddy and men’s singles shuttler Subhankar Dey ended the campaign after losing in the pre-quarters match at the BWF World Tour Super 300 German Open.


The Thailand pair Tinn Isriyanet and Pacharapun Chochuwong of Thailand grabbed the early lead with 3-0, which was later caught by the Indian pair at 3-3 in the first game. By the end of the first half of the game, Tinn and Pacharapun were with two-point advantage and went down the wire to save the first game with 21-18.


The second game, though initially was in the hands of the Pranaav and Sikki till 2-0, the Thailand pair managed to beat the opponents till 5-5. Later took the game with 21-19.


While, Subhankar Dey was thrashed by the fourth seeded Chou Tien Chen with 21-7, 21-6 in the 28-minute encounter.
