Indian men’s pair Tarun and Saurabh ended as the runner-up after losing against the local pair Nyl Yakura and Jason Anthony in the finals at the Brazil International Badminton Cup 2018.
The Indians lost the first game 7-21 against the Brazilian pair, who retired from the match. Tarun and Sharma had earlier beaten Rodalfo Ramirez and Jonathan Solis of Guatemala 21-13, 21-15 in the semifinal.
The pair got better off in the quarter-finals against the second seeded Evejinv Dremin and Dennis Grachev
Saurabh Sharma with Anoushka Parikh also settled as runner-up after losing to Evgenil Dremin and Evagenia Dimova of Russia with 17-21, 14-21 in the final.
Previously, the third seeded Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka lost to the second seeded Sabrina Jaquet of Switzerland in the women’s singles event with 21-17, 21-14 in the semifinals match, while, in men’s singles event Harshit Aggarwal lost to the fifth seeded Sergey Sirant of Russia with 21-17, 23-21 in the 48-minute encounter.
