Novi Sad hosted the European Badminton Tournament

The popular European Badminton Championship, organized by the European Badminton Association of Serbia is apparently the 6th Serbian and Under-17 Championship 2018, to be held in the city Capital of Vojvodina Region, Novi Sad.



The second largest Serbian city will soon host its second badminton championship. From 18 different European countries, over 500 players will partake in the Championship. The countries including England, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Austria, Ukraine, Latvia, Slovakia, FYR Macedonia, Romania, Cyprus. Hungary, Moldova and the host Serbia, will partake in the Tournament.



7 medals are already in the account of Serbian team making it a successful opponent ahead of the Russian Badminton and Ukrainian Badminton team, each captivating 5 Medals. Mihajlo Tomic, from Serbia, has won the title of the tournament.  Tomic holds a gold medal in MD with Sergei Lukic along with two more silver medals, in XD and MS with Marija Sudimac.



Tomic brimmed with joy on winning the silver medal at the tournament. His excitement knew no bounds for he started his career as a reserve but lately got a promotion in the entry to the main draw. In MD, both Tomic and Sergei Lukic fulfilled the approval of their coaching staff. After grinding hard and winning three tough games, the stressful finale came to a close with a spectacular show. The tremendous sportsmanship and unending efforts of the Czech Republic players, Jan Janostik and Adam Ehm impressed Tomic and congratulated them for their outstanding performance in the final match.



The duo Tomic and Marija Sudimac, in XD, gave a flattering performance and vested efforts to win the final match, bagged the title. The lack of concentration and focus has led them to lose the match. After the medal ceremony, Tomic stated that winning the title of MVP was beyond expectation. He felt gratitude for the services offered of the organizers. The title acted like a source of motivation for him.



Both the tournaments witness the outstanding badminton matches. On Saturday and Sunday, players made a record of three interesting games. The Youth Tournament, 2018 has broken the previous records. About 187 players partake in 15 events and played 379 matches during the entire tournament which took place on 14th June, Thursday. The 6th Serbian tournament and Under-17 BEC Circuit was organized by the Badminton Association of Serbia, Vojvodina along with the Badminton Club “Novi Sad”
