The Indian shuttler, Ajay Jayaram stayed runner-up in the championship after he succumbed by the top-seeded shuttler Pablo Abian of Spain in the finals of recently concluded White Nights International Challenge at Gatchina, Russia.

Ajay also made his place in the US Open World Tour 300 semifinals, which took place last month. He has been giving impressive performances, after his comeback. The 30-year-old Indian shuttler made a comeback after recuperating from injuries and was looked forward to the title of Men's Singles in the White Nights International Challenge 2018 finals.

He continued his rampage towards the finals as he knocked out the Thomas Rouxel in the semi-finals. However, in the 55-minute long clash finals, Pablo foiled the Indian shuttler 11-21, 21-16, 21-17.

Although his struggle and grind have made him one among the White Night International Challenge 2018 winners, Ajay said that it is always blissful to be a winner and he was satisfied with his performance. Staying off the court for a long time was a tough task, and he also had qualms about his hamstring.

Positive vibes are an integral part of my game, as I get the motivation to continue working hard. I am happy with the past tournaments including the US Open semi-final and White Nights and eagerly anticipating for the upcoming tournaments.

Last year, in April, Jayaram fetched his career-best by climbing World No 13 ranking. At the senior nationals, he faced a hamstring injury, and an old knee injury broke out resulting the Mumbai shuttler to stay aside from the court for six months and made a splendid comeback and aspiring to play at the Super 100 and 300 events and will partake in the upcoming Russian GP.

The Indian shuttler is determined to boost up his ranking and perform before his entry in the Super Series.
