Russia Open'18: A Drill for Shuttlers to ace the BWF World Championship

The Russian Open initiated from today and the tournament is held at the Sports Hall Olympic in Vladivostock, Russia. The six-day long championship will last till 29th July 2018. Shuttlers around the globe are gathered here to partake in the BWF Super 100 event of the tournament. However, the draw is dominated by the players of the host country, but they will enter a cut-throat competition from the Indian and Malaysian shuttlers as well.


This tournament is more like a BWF world championships 2018 warm-up match. According to the recent updates and news on the Russian badminton, it is revealed that the host country has captured the number one seed in the category of Men’s singles, Women’s singles and Mixed Doubles. All the expertise shuttlers will be playing in this category, to showcase their talent. Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov are drawn on the first seeds whereas their compatriots Konstantin Abramov and Alexandr Zinchenko will play as the second seeds.


Men's Singles


Many Indian shuttlers in the Men’s Singles are participating, including one of the fantastic shuttlers, Parupalli Kashyap, Chirag Sen, Mithun Manjunath, Pratul Joshi, Sourabh Verma, Siddarth Pratap Singh, Bodit Joshi, Ajay Jayaram, Subhankar Dey and Gurusaidutt G M V.


Chirag Sen has to face a tough competition as he is drawn against Pablo Abian. After his tremendous performance at the White Nights 2018, the Spanish shuttler Pablo Abian is been diligent to make this year more productive for him. This year he also finished as runner-up in the FZ Forza Slovenia International 2018 along with Tarragona 2018 Mediterranean Games. Clearly, Chirag has a giant drawn against him.


Women's Singles


The Russian Women’s singles player Evgeniya Koserskaya has been performing amazingly. She has already surprised and amused her aficionados and rivals with her great performance and finishing as runner-up in the European Championships 2018. She will try to put an impressive impact on all, as she competes as the first seed. The third and fourth seed was captured by the Russian shuttler Natalia Perminoya and Yvonne Li from Germany. However, along with Evgeniya, the third seed Natalia are seeking to bring improvisation in order to perform well in the world championships, upcoming next week.


To represent India in the women’s Singles, Sai Uttejitha Rao, Vrushali Gummadi, Vaidehi Choudhari, Mugdha Agrey and Rituparna Das are also landed on the court.


Women's Doubles


In the Women’s Doubles, the World No 15 pair of Malaysia, Chow Mei Kuan and Lee Meng Yean will capture the first seed in the championship followed by the Russian duo of Ekaterina Bolotova and Alina Davletova.


Men's Doubles


In the Men’s Doubles, the Indian pair of Arun George and Sanyam Shukla is drawn against the Russian Pair of Vladimir Nikulov and Artem Serpionov. Also, the duo of Kona Tarun and Saurabh Sharma are representing the nation in the Men’s Doubles.


Mixed Doubles


In the meantime, the pair of Evgenij Dremin and Evgenia Dimova in the Mixed Doubles will look forward to bankrolling their status as first seeds. India’s Saurabh Sharma and Anoushika Parikh are paired in the Mixed Doubles along with the duo of compatriots Rohan Kapoor and Kuhu Garg.
