BWF World Championships'18 LIVE: Satwik and Chirag Cruised to Next Round

India’s Men’s Doubles shutters Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty outplayed seniors Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge of England with 21-19, 12-21, 21-19 in the-round-of-64 at the BWF World Championships 2018 in Nanjing, China.

Kona Tarun and Saurabh Sharma lost the challenge in the first round after playing for 51 minutes in the three sets match.

The Indians excelled to their best in the opening round yet lost with 20-22, 21-18, 17-21 against Or Chin Chung and Tang Chun Man of Hong Kong on Tuesday. First game was the close encounter as the players never gave an inch to the opponents till the game point, and by half of the second game, the Indians changed the gear. But in the decider, Tarun and Saurabh lost the momentum.

In another Men’s Doubles match, Arjun MR and Ramchandran Shlok couldn’t get through in the first as they lost in the straight sets with 14-21, 15-21 in 29 minutes.

Previously on Monday, Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy defeated Daniel Nikolov and Ivan Rusev of Bulgaria with 21-13, 21-18 in 26 minutes.
