Spirits are still high in Malaysian players, though Lee Chong Wei’s missing in action at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

World No. 53 in Men’s Singles player, Lee Zii Jia feels that it is a good chance for the players to get an awareness of their play and it is time to prove themselves without losing the focus.

“Despite the absence of Datuk Lee Chong Wei, our training and preparations are uninterrupted. We will try to emulate his spirit at the Asian Games 2018.”

"The majority of the players are young. So, what I can say is that we will try our best to make history and achieve the medals as targeted," said Jia as quoted by The Sun Daily.

Jia, who will make debut at the Asian Games 2018 in individual and Mixed Team events, faces no pressure and undertake the responsibility with pride.

Other young players to be witnessed at the contest are Soong Joo Ven, Leong Jun Hao from Singles and the pair Ong Yew Sin /Teo Ee Yi.

Absence of Lee Chong Wei is the great opportunity for the players like Jia, as they can showcase their talent in the second-biggest sports stage.

"I am hoping that if I am fielded and I will do my best.

"Indeed, it's different in his (Chong Wei) absence but Liew Daren also has a positive impact on us," he added.
