Japan Open 2018 LIVE: Manu and Sumeeth into Pre-Quarters

India’s world no. 28 Men’s Doubles pair B Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri enter Pre-quarters at the BWF Super 750 Japan Open 2018 after defeating the Malaysians Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in the three sets match.

 

The Indian duo progressed into next round with 15-21, 23-21, 21-19 in the contest of 54 minutes of the opening round.

 

While, another Men’s Doubles duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost the battle in the first round against the third seeded Japanese Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda with 12-21, 17-21.

 

Meanwhile, the sixth seeds of Denmark Mads Conrad Petersen and Mads Pieler Kolding make an early exit after losing to the unseeds Lee Jhe-Huei and Lee Yang of Korea in the opening round with 19-21, 16-21. And the eighth seeds Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark too made it to the next round at the Japan Open 2018 in Tokyo.

 

Previously, on Day 1, Viktor Axelsen, Lin Dan, Srikanth Kidambi and HS Prannoy entered pre-quarters in the Men’s Singles discipline, and Tai Tzu Ying, Akane Yamaguchi, PV Sindhu, Carolina Marin and Nozomi Okuhara secured pre-quarters berth on Tuesday.
