Emerging top-seeded shuttlers Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka and Kartikey Gulshan Kumar clinched the Turkey Junior 2017 badminton tournament in their respective U-19 categories. It was easy business for the players as they didn’t face any hurdle throughout the journey at the tournament.
Vaishnavi outplayed the tenth seeded Nalican Inci of Turkey with 21-15, 21-13 in 26 minutes in the women’s singles, while Kartikey defeated Arnaud Merkle of France with 21-13, 12-21, 21-17 in 50 minutes in men’s singles.
Earlier, Vaishnavi defeated the second seeded Anastasiya Prozorova of Ukraine in the straight games of 23-21, 21-17 in just 28 minutes and Kartikey, outlasted the fourth seeded local shuttler Yazgan Calisir with 21-17, 21-16 in 39 minutes.
