PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship'18: 4th Edition Kick Starts in Delhi

The fourth spell of the PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship 2018 embarked yesterday at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex where more than 1119 young Indian shuttlers flaunt their badminton skills and talent.


Four categories were finalized for the tournament, including, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15, for boys and girls. The Badminton Association of India ratified the entire event.


However, not just the Capital of the country, but the JBC is also planned to be held in 9 more cities of the country including Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Lucknow, Guwahati, Kolkata and Chandigarh, this year.


From the tournament of each city, two players will be selected from each of the respective category, who will get a chance to display their hold in the game. From the latest updates of the PNB Metlife JBC 2018, the ultimate fight for the National title is scheduled on August 9th-10th at New Delhi.


Himanta Biswa Sarma, the President of BAI, said about the JBC that they are extremely contented to accompany the fourth season of the PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship.


He also stated that this tournament is like an energy drive for the young ones to refine their talent. This will assist them to sharpen their skills and pursue their dreams in this field of sports. The country has enormous talent and potential to spawn sports champions. Such platforms are a significant support to generate the awareness of the sport to various parts of the country and mop up its availability for everyone.


JBC is a great platform which also assists and supports the coaching of the unfortunate kids so that they can come forward through sports. Till now, over 140 children have received the favours from the scholarships, for the coaching in badminton.


This tournament undoubtedly obtains an ample support for the kids all over the country, who have interests in Badminton.
