Asia Junior Championships 2018 Day 1: India Fared Well

The Asia Junior Championships commenced on Wednesday at Jakarta. The inaugural round for the Indian shuttler was assorted in the singles events of the tournament. The Badminton Asia Junior Championship 2018 updates for the first round was totally blissful as the women shuttlers, Dipti Kutty Medha Shashidharan and Kavipriya Selvam, made it through the inaugural matches.


Dipti thrashed out her opponent, Aisha Zhumabek of Kazakh by 21-18,21-13, on the other hand, Medha Shashidharan also foiled her rival Iya Gordeyeva of Kazakhstan in an easy game 21-9,21-10. Also, Kavipriya, in the women’s singles category whipped out Myanmar’s Seng Jar Nan 21-5, 21-8.


In the men’s singles, the national no 3 player and 16th seeded player Kiran George maintained his spot in the match as he thwarted his Malaysian counterpart Chong King Ling 24-22,21-16.


Meanwhile, Aman Sanjay Farogh surrendered in the first round to his 10th seeded Indonesian opponent, Karono Karono 16-21,21-16,17-21. The battle was intense and back-breaking, after which Aman lost the ultimate game of the match.


However, the pair of Srikrishna Sai and Srishti Jupudi along with their compatriot pair of Orijit Chaliha and Preethi in the mixed doubles could not make it and lost in the first round.
