Immense enrolls for Japan Para-Badminton International

Ever before entries have been registered for the Hulic-Daihatsu Japan Para-Badminton International 2017 in Machida, Tokyo. The tournament is going to take place from 5th September to 10th September at Machida City Gymnasium.

 

Besides being the first para-badminton tournament in Japan, it is going to host 182 players from 28 countries competing in 22 events. Japan is on the top with the contingent of 36 players and India, the second largest contingent of 19 players. France and Korea each have 15 players.

 

Several prodigies in para-badminton including BWF Para-Badminton players of the Year Lucas Mazur (France) and Karin Suter-Erath (Switzerland); Lee Sam Seop and Kim Jung Jun (Korea); Cheah Liek Hou (Malaysia); Helle Sofie Sagoy (Norway), Rachel Choong (England) and Akiko Sugino have confirmed their participation.

 

Ayako Suzuki, World No. 1 in SU 5 (women), expressed excitement. She said,

 

“It will be the most competitive event of my career as there are several strong players, particularly from China and Denmark. I’m hoping to win gold in front of my home crowd.”

 

David Toupe of France, competing in WH 1, is giving a comeback after an injury break and hoping that he would give his best. He said, “I was injured for two months and was not sure of coming to Tokyo, but I recovered in time,” Toupe said. “I hope to do well in my three categories, but I will have to take it game by game.”
