Bello Oyebanji, a national para-badminton player from Nigeria appealed individuals and corporate organisations for the support to participate in the Uganda International Badminton Championship and Africa Badminton Championship.
The Uganda International Championship and the Africa Championship will be held in April and May respectively. Bello said that due to lack of funds, many athletes could be affected with their participation.
“We started training last year ahead of the two major championships, but we don’t really know if we will participate due to lack of sponsorship.
“Our participation in the two events is very vital for the development of the sport in the country; hopefully, we will win medals for the country,’’ he said.
