All the world class shuttlers are going to meet at the-one-and-only league in the country, Premier Badminton League, the third season, which will kickstart from December 23.

Participation of four of the top-10 men’s players and  five of the top-10 women’s players for the 23-day long tournament is definitely what the country needs to lift the sport. With the addition of two new teams - Ahmedabad Smash Masters and North Eastern Warriors - to make eight, the league will happen across five cities, where the semi-final and the final match will take place in Hyderabad.

India’s ace shuttlers, Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu, who are preparing for season-finale tournament BWF World Superseries Finals that will start from December 13th, felt that the league was and is the perfect platform for them to learn from other top players which will groom the emerging shuttlers as well.

The world no 4 said, “The league’s level has grown. Many top players are taking part this year. It is good to see so many top players showing interest in the league; it will help the sport in the country. Spending time with them will help you grow as well. It will help you learn how they prepare for the match and other things.”

Srikanth, who will play for Awadhe Warriors added, “More than anything it will help young people watch their heroes. It will definitely be a big inspiration for many youngsters to take up the game.”

Silver queen Sindhu backed Srikanth saying, “You have Olympic medallists, World Championship medallists. I’m really looking forward to it. The addition of two teams creates more excitement as well and also that of Tai Tzu Ying.”
