Grand felicitation program to the team Hyderabad Hunters

One month after lifting the champions trophy, Hyderabad Hunters has felicitated in its home town Hyderabad from the Government of Telangana and Badminton Association of Telangana at hotel Trident, Hyderabad on Thursday evening.


The event has been graced by Mr. K T Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Industries, MA & UD, NRI Affairs, IT Secretary Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Badminton chief coach Mr. Pullela Gopichand, organizers of PBL, Management of Hyderabad Hunters with its owner Mr. V R K Rao and India's Badminton players, coaches, support staff based in Hyderabad.


In the summit clash of the Premier Badminton League season 3 on January 14, the juggernaut Hyderabad Hunters overcame Bengaluru Blasters and emerged champions in the league at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.


Mr. K T Rama Rao congratulated Hunters and urged Gopichand Pullela to continue making more champions. He said, “In fact, we being in same city (Hyderabad), know or feel less about your (Gopichand) contribution, but rest of the country truly appreciates your effort and talks great about you and the city; and we are proud of it. Keep doing it.”


Being the first ever tournament winners, Hyderabad Hunters thanked KTR and Jayesh Ranjan for their tremendous support throughout, besides PBL organizers.


Gopichand felt contented saying, “Hunters players are the best when compared to others and team owners are just amazing, who created friendly environment within the whole team.”


“Thanks to the Sportszlive too, who made PBL successful with the wonderful effort, and the aegis from the government in terms of infrastructure, especially Jayesh Ranjan sir for his passion in the sport and support throughout PBL,” he added.


All the Indian players in Hunters team, support staff members Kiran and Sumansh, and coaches J Rajendar Kumar, Amrish shinde, Nagam Anil, Vijay Deep Singh and Surya were felicitated at the event.



Olympic bronze medallist Saina Nehwal, Olympic Silver medallist PV Sindhu, four Superseries titles winner Kidambi Srikanth, Parupalli Kashyap, B Sai Praneeth, HS Prannoy, N Sikki Reddy, B Sumeeth Reddy, Gurusai Dutt, Nandagopal Kidambi, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Arjun MR, Shlok Ramchandran, Rahul Yadav Chittaboina, Siril Verma and Gayatri Pullela, also attended the event.


Meanwhile, it’s already been one month since the Hunters lifted the finals trophy.



The youngster Satwiksairaj with Indonesia’s Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth of mixed doubles set up a supreme display in the last match of the clash to lift the trophy and winners purse of the Hunters.


With the addition of two more teams at season 3, PBL has been the revelation for many young shuttlers like Satwiksai Raj RankiReddy, who has proved his worth for the tournament.


Hyderabad being capital of the Indian badminton, it has been scaling heights in producing amazing young talents.
