Prakash Padukone players in France for training under legend Peter Gade

16 year old Lakshya Sen had gained limelight by being trained in France from Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy as part of the training programme. Rahul Bharadwaj, Maisnam Meiraba and Kiran George along with two-time national champion Sayali Gokhale as coach are sent to the French National Badminton Training Centre for 10 days.


Lakshya and Rahul trained with the senior French team in Voiron, besides, two other juniors, Kiran George and Meiraba, underwent training with their junior team in Bordeaux from August 1 to 10.


Junior World No. 1 Lakshya Sen and Rahul Bharadwaj had great opportunity to interact and train with the chief coach of France and former All England champion, Peter Gade.


Olympic Gold Quest took an immense responsibility in sending Lakshya Sen to France to be trained under the head coach of France.


Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy chief coach, Vimal Kumar said, 

“It was a great experience for Lakshya Sen and Rahul Bharadwaj to get valuable tips from the badminton legend Peter Gade. PPBA will continue this arrangement with the French team and as a part of the exchange programme, French squad is likely to visit PPBA in Bangalore shortly.”


The four players have been executing well in state and national level tournaments since the past two years. Their training in France would really help and boost them up for the upcoming junior and senior tournaments in the couple of months.


Lakshya's current performance includes a Bronze medal at Junior Dutch GP and a pre-quarter finish at the Asia Junior Championships.
