Asian Games: “All contenders in Indian Badminton Team endow great potential” says Gopichand

On the Monday evening, the 13th August’18, the Indian Badminton contingent were boosted with a send-off ceremony for Asian Games’18 at the city hotel. Bustling with passion and energy, the Indian baddies were surely in good form and ready to roll at the upcoming fiesta. After a spectacular performance at the Commonwealth and brilliant show put across at the World Championships, our badminton squad is gunning the opportunity to successfully tap the best potential and grab the medals.

 

Speaking of the current contingent, Gopichand affirmatively announced, “Indian badminton team is stronger than ever, the high potential players in each category; singles and doubles, are performing consistently well and raising our hope to end the gold medal dearth. The firepower shuttlers are ready to shoulder the nation’s hopes.”

 

Brimming with gratitude and emotions, Sindhu spilled a few words of wisdom, “We as a team will certainly give our best both individually and in team event. Thank you everyone for your undying support and love, this will keep igniting the passion within us. Just 2 days left to kiss the glory, we’re armed with the potent skills and passion.”

 

Gopichand further remarked “Asian Games is a tough battleground for players as compared to the Commonwealth because of the domination of talented and agile Asians from China, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia. It will pose a great threat to us, but our team is very well prepared to bear the load. Everyone is in good form and shall deliver their best performance. “

 

Saina Nehwal shared a few words on the players performing at the Asian Games, “We have been facing quite a tough tide with so many major events stacked together. But winning always gives us a high, just how we won a bronze in the women’s category, we’re aiming for the gold now. The team looks good in shape, form and attitude, we shall beat the best and I shall deliver my 100%.”

 

Sai Uttejitha Rao and Gayathri Gopichand who shall be representing the Asian Games squad were also seen at the event, all pepped up to perform their 100%. They were too excited to experience the international exposure and test the waters at a global level.

 

Vice President of the Telangana Badminton Association V Chamundeswaranath promised cars to the doubles badminton players. The former Andhra Ranji captain who has gifted cars to the players earlier will be presenting Ford Ecosport to the final medallists.
