BWF Hyderabad Open 2018 Updates: Doubles’ Knights into Quarters

At the ongoing BWF Super 100 Hyderabad Open 2018, top seeded Men’s Doubles prodigy Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty entered Quarters after trounsing Bagas Maulana and Frengky Wijaya Putra with 21-13, 21-17 on Thursday at the G.M.C Balayogi SATS Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

 

While Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy survived the scare in the second game with 21-10, 22-20 against Yeung Shing Choi and Fan Ka Van of Hong-Kong.

 

The Indian pair grabbed an early lead with 4-0 and led with the huge 11-5 scoreline before sealing the game. Later in the second game, the Hong-Kong duo hardly gave their opponents to breath posing the tough challenge.

 

In another Mixed Doubles matches, B Sumeeth Reddy with Arathi Sara Sunil lost to the junior compatriots S. Sunjith and Sruthi K. P. with 21-11, 15-21, 21-11 and the seventh seeded Indians Shivam Sharma and S Ram Poorvisha ended the campaign after losing to the unseeded Hong-Kong pair Yeung Ming Nok and Ng Tsz Yau with 21-13, 21-17 in 24 minutes.

 

The sixth seeded Indonesian pair Akbar Bintang Cahyono and Winny Oktavina Kandow in the Mixed Doubles discipline thrashed Ho Wai Lun and Yuen Sin Ying with 21-10, 21-9 in the match of just 18 minutes.
