Sindhu has been drawn into Group A along with world no 2 Akane Yamaguchi, Sayako Sato, and Hi Bingjiao for the season-ending Dubai Super Series Finals which starts from December 13. Sindhu narrowly missed the match against Carolina Marin, who is replaced by Sato, in the main draw. Marin and Okuhara had to withdraw from the tournament as they didn’t recover from the injury they experienced during the Hong Kong Open last month.
Whereas, Okuhara is replaced by Chen Yufei who is drawn in group B along with world no 1 Tai Tzu Ying, Sung Ji Hyun and Ratchanok Intanon.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles, Kidambi Srikanth has been drawn into group B along with world no 1 Viktor Axelsen, Chou Tien Chen, Shi Yuqi. And badminton legends Chen Long and Lee Chong Wei have been drawn together in Group A comprising former world number one Son Wan Ho and Hong Kong's Ng Ka Long Angus.
