Junior badminton tournament to take off in Tenali

The All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament for under -13 and under-15 boys and girls will begin from December 1 in Tenali, AP. About 800 players from 28 states to take part in the event, among which 600 entries were registered for main draw that starts from December 2 which will take place at the Municipal Stadium.


Punnaiah Chowdary, Secretary of AP Badminton Association, said that all the pinnacle BAI ranked players will take part in the selection. Guntur District Badminton Association president Rayapati Ranga Rao, secretary T.Sampath Kumar said that the Hova court material was being used in all six courts at the stadium.


The Badminton Association of India has nominated Deswandikar from Maharashtra as tourney referee assisted and M.S.N.Prasad, BAI Match Control; about 25 qualified umpires and Technical officials have also been nominated. All the facilities at the tournament will be provided for the players, coaches and their families, as told by Tenali MLA Alapati Rajendra Prasad, who is also organising committee convener.
