Will Astro Kasih’s Junior Championships foster fitness amongst kids?

The Astro Junior National Level Championships is commencing from Sept 6 to Sept 9 at the Stadium Juara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tournament will be organised by Astro Kasih, with an alliance of the Badminton Association of Malaysia, Badminton Asia, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports. Astro Kashi is an organization, focussing to serve the community areas like Learning, Development, Environment, Sports and Fitness.


It is anticipated that the tournament will account for 32 Malaysian badminton teams. The Winner, as well as the first runner-up, will get a chance to hustle with striking and superior badminton clubs which hails from the ASEAN region. This competition will begin from Nov 12 to Nov 15’18, at the Astro Invitational Junior Championships, which will be at the regional level.


The tournament will highlight boy’s singles, girl’s singles, girls doubles and mixed doubles and all shuttlers of the Under-15 category can partake.


Each team consist of 8 players and not more than 10 on the scroll, will be managed and guided by a team manager. The reward of the victorious team is the cash prize up to RM14,000.


In the upcoming regional level tournament, which will commence in November, the two finalists of the Astro Junior Championship at the National Level will get a chance to take on with 12 eminent junior badminton clubs, which includes the teams of ASEAN countries such as China and Japan.


The simple registration process, which was initiated on 16th July 2018, requires a participant to visit the official website of Astro Kasih, with RM200 entry fee per team.


The championship is aimed in order to contribute in the enhancement of young shuttlers, through Astro Kem Badminton, a badminton development program, which started in 2012, has been favourable to over 15,000 badminton aficionados in Malaysia as well as Indonesia. In Japan and China, more than 130 shuttlers have received training through Astro Kem Badminton.
