Hyderabadi shuttler, CM Shashidhar defeated top seeded Lars Klintrup of Denmark to reach top eight of the contest in the +40 category in the BWF World Senior Championships.
He is just a win away from securing maiden Masters medal.
Previously, C.M. Shashidhar got past Vegar Naess 21-5, 21-4 of Norway to qualify for the round of 16 in the men's singles +40 age category. He will take on number one seeded Lars Klintrup of Denmark.
Meanwhile, Nikhil Kanetkar knocked out Switzerland’s Oliver Colin in the +35 category to make it to the quarter finals match on wednesday. In his previous match, Kanetkar defeated Konstantin Myakishev by 21-5, 23-21 in 24 minutes.
Nikhil, who represented India in 2004 Summer Olympics and has been part of the Indian squad for other BWF tournaments in the past rolled back the years to register a dominating 21-17, 21-18 victory in just 28 minutes.
