All India Junior Ranking Tournament Cochin: Gayatri-Mainsam showcased their talent

Once again Gayatri Gopichand has proved herself as a sovereign player, as she trounced her opponent in the All Indian Junior Ranking Tournament 2018 finals, held at Cochin. 

 

The 15-year-old player has been in an exceptional form in all the domestic tournaments. In the finals, that took place on Sunday, Gayatri upset her 18-year-old opponent Ashwini Bhat 21-11, 11-21, 21-14.

 

The June month's calendar is filled with her excellent performances as she reached the quarterfinals and semi-finals of the national senior ranking tournaments. With her stunning performance, she also gained a spot in the Indian squad for the upcoming Asian Games.

 

In the Boy’s Singles, the 15-year-old shuttler Maisnam Meiraba foiled his opponent Siddarth Gupta 21-10, 21-7 in an easy match.

 

While, Dhruv Kapila and Krishna Prasad Garaga won another title by throwing out the seeded players Nabneeth Bokka and Sai Pavan Karri 21-15,21-11 in the boys-doubles category. The winner duo has also won the senior ranking title in Hyderabad and were runners-up in Bengaluru, the previous month.

 

The third-seeded players Nila V and Varshini VS won the title in the girl’s doubles by defeating top-seeded players Shruti Mishra and Samriddhi Singh 21-10, 14-21, 21-14.

 

Akshan Shetty and Rashi Lambe won mixed Doubles as they foiled Sai Pavan Karri and Riya Arilkar 21-14, 21-15.
